Brooklyn Man Shot In The Head Dies Weeks Later, Cops Say

A homeless man died in Brookdale Hospital Thursday, six weeks after police found him on a Brooklyn corner with a gunshot wound in his head.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN -- A homeless man who was shot in the head died six weeks after he was found lying in the street, police said.

Police found an unconscious and wounded man on the corner of Pitkin and Shepherd avenues on Dec. 30 at about 2:25 a.m., according to the NYPD.

Emergency responders rushed him in critical condition to Brookdale Hospital where he died from his injuries on Valentine's Day, said police.

Police are investigating the man's death as a homicide and had not made any arrests as of Friday morning.
