Brooklyn Motorcyclist Dies In Crash With Unlicensed Driver: Cops

Lorenzo Fonerin Arias was thrown from his motorcycle when an unlicensed driver attempted a left turn in Cypress Hills, police said.

CYPRESS HILLS, BROOKLYN — An unlicensed driver who crashed his car into a motorcycle was arrested after the motorcyclist died, police said.

Junior Aguilar, 27, slammed his 2017 Chrysler 300S into the motorcycle when he tried to make a left turn from Barbey Street onto Jamaica Avenue at about 8:45 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Lorenzo Fonerin Arias, 26, and his 16-year-old passenger were both thrown from the 2018 Suzuki motorcycle onto the street, said police.

Emergency responders rushed Arias, who was in critical condition, and the 16-year-old, who was stable, to Brookdale Hospital, police said.

Arias died from his injuries on Sunday, police said.

Aguilar, of Kew Gardens, did not drive away from the crash, but investigators discovered he had been driving without a license, said police.

The Queens man was arrested and charged with as an aggravated unlicensed operation of a car in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Sunday, court records show.
