Brownsville Howard Johnson Robbed By Teen, Police Say

Police are looking for the teenager who screamed at a Howard Johnson employee then grabbed $600 from the register.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Police are hunting for the teen who burst into a Howard Johnson and forced an employee to hand over $600 in cash.

The teenager pushed his way behind the hotel's reception desk at 524 Rockaway Ave. just after midnight on Wednesday and screamed at the 27-year-old employee until he opened the cash drawer, said police.

Surveillance footage shows the teen grabbing what he wants from the register and seemingly throwing an object to the floor in frustration.

The thief stole about $600 in cash before fleeing the Howard Johnson on foot, said police.
