Brownsville Woman Who Killed Mom In Front Of Baby Sentenced: DA

Shenia Williams was sentenced to 18 years for stabbing Joanna Beauzier in front of her nine-month-old son, prosecutors said.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — The young woman who fatally stabbed her boyfriend’s ex in front of the woman’s nine-month-old son will spend 18 years in prison, according to prosecutors.

Shenia Williams, 22, was sentenced Friday for the fatal stabbing of Joanna Beauzier, 22, on Lott Avenue in 2016, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office announced.

Beauzier had her son in a stroller when she arrived outside the home of Williams' boyfriend, whom Beauzier used to date, shortly after midnight on Sept. 13, according to prosecutors and an ABC News report.

Beauzier and Williams started to fight, so Williams pulled out a knife and stabbed Beauzier three times, prosecutors said.

The young mother was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital and Williams was arrested later that same day, according prosecutors and ABC News.

Williams pleaded guilty to manslaughter in June and was sentenced to 18 years in prison in Brooklyn Criminal Court on July 13, prosecutors said.
