Burglar With Boxcutter Attacks Brooklyn Man On Xmas Eve: NYPD

The burglar broke open the front door of an East New York home and attacked a resident with a boxcutter on Christmas Eve, said police.

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for the burglar who broke into an East New York man’s home on Christmas Eve and attacked him with a boxcutter.

The suspect burst into a Belmont Avenue apartment after he broke open the front door around 5:40 a.m. on Dec. 24, police said.

The burglar pulled out a boxcutter, demanded money from the 22-year-old man he found inside the apartment, then lunged and attacked, police said.

The burglar slashed the 22-year-old's back then fled the apartment, police said.

On Thursday, police released surveillance photos of the suspect, whom they described as a 5-foot 11-inch tall man in his early twenties weighing about 170 pounds.
