Canarsie U-Turn Crash Kills Motorcyclist, Police Say
Andrew Vasapoli died Monday night after his Kawasaki motorcycle was struck by a Hyundai making a U-turn on Flatlands Avenue, police said.
CANARSIE, BROOKLYN β A U-turn turned fatal Monday night when a sedan driver rammed into a motorcyclist and threw him off his bike, police said.
A 25-year-old woman driving a 2018 grey Hyundai Elantra fatally struck Andrew Vasapoli, 33, on Flatlands Avenue near East 93rd Street just after 10 p.m., police said.
The 2010 green Kawasaki motorcycle had been traveling west on Flatlands Avenue when it the Hyundai's rear driver's side and threw Vasapoli to the concrete, police said.

Vasapoli, who suffered injuries across his body, was rushed to Brookadale Hospital but doctors couldn't save him, police said.
The Hyundai driver remained at the crash and was not charged with a crime Monday night.

Vasapoli hailed from Ridgewood in Queens, police said.
