Chokehold Robbery: Trio Attacks Man In Brownsville Vestibule, Police Say

Police released photos of three suspects who are wanted for putting a man in a chokehold and robbing him in July

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for three people who put a man in chokehold and robbed him last month.

Two men and one woman attacked their 37-year-old victim inside an apartment building vestibule near Rockaway and Riverdale avenues around 9:30 p.m. on July 9, police said.

The trio lured him into conversation, walked with him inside the building, then pounced, police said.

The woman stood lookout as her partners punched the man in the face, placed him in a chokehold, then stole a cellphone and cash from his pockets, said police.

The suspects fled west on Riverdale Avenue and the victim was rushed to Brookdale Hospital where he was treated for a fractured eye socket, police said.

Surveillance cameras captured pictures of the suspects, whom police describe as a man in a black jacket with white writing, a man in a white t-shirt, and a woman wearing a black shirt with an American flag printed across the chest.
