Cops Nab Strangler And Would-Be Rapist In East New York
Police arrested Jamel Culler Monday and charged him with trying to rape a 53-year-old woman in her East New York home.
EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN -- Cops arrested the strangler and would-be rapist who locked an East New York woman in her home and robbed her, police said.
Jamel Culler, 30, stands accused of bursting into a 53-year-old woman's home near Doscher Street and Liberty Avenue on March 11 just before 6:40 a.m., police said.
Cops say Culler stole $20 from the woman then pushed her onto her couch, tried to rip off her clothing and demanded sex.

But the brave woman fought off her attacker and he ran away in an unknown direction, said police.
Police arrested Culler on charges of attempted rape, robbery, strangulation, burglary, attempted criminal sexual act, unlawful imprisonment and forcible touching on Monday.
