Cyclist Dies In Bike Lane After Hit-And-Run With Box Truck: Cops

A box truck slammed into MD Rajon has he biked along the Pitkin Avenue bike lane in Brooklyn Friday morning, police said.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- A Brooklyn cyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash with a box truck who swerved into the bike lane, early Friday morning, police said.

A white truck slammed into MD Rajon, 21, in the Pitkin Avenue bike lane near Atkin Avenues in East New York at about 12:50 a.m. the morning of Dec. 14, said police.

The truck turned south on Atkins Avenue and left a severely wounded Rajon lying in the street, police said.

Emergency responders rushed to the Brooklyn street corner but were unable to save Rajon's life, said police.

The NYPD Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad continued to investigate the crash but had not made an arrest as of Friday morning, police said.
