Hit-And-Run Driver Leaves Dying Man In East New York Street
A 51-year-old man died after a Jeep Cherokee slammed into him on Linden Boulevard and sped away, police said.
EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN -- A man died in a hit-and-run crash in East New York Tuesday night and a Jeep Cherokee driver is under arrest, police said.
Rodney Mondesir, 43, slammed his 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee into a 51-year-old man on Linden Boulevard and Barbey Street at 11:55 p.m., police said.
Mondesir then sped away and abandoned the Jeep on Jerome Avenue and McClancy Street, according to police.

Emergency responders rushed the 51-year-old to Brookdale Hospital but doctors were unable to save his life, said police.
Police tracked down and arrested Mondesir on charges of leaving the scene of a serious injury and equipment violation Wednesday afternoon, according to the NYPD.
