Man Dies 5 Weeks After He Was Shot In The Armpit In East New York
Police are still looking for five suspects involved with the Hendrix Street shooting on May 26.

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN β A man who was shot in East New York during a massive attack last month died from his injuries, police announced Tuesday.
Sean Smith, 35, died Sunday, five weeks after a group of men shot him in the armpit and a 26-year-old man in the leg on Hendrix Street near Livonia Avenue, said police.
The five gunmen ran away toward Livonia Street after the May 26 shooting, which took place about 8 p.m., and both their victims were rushed to Brookdale Hospital, police said.

Smith, who lived on Sheffield Avenue in East New York, was listed in critical condition until his death, said police.
Police had yet to arrest the five suspects, all men in their late twenties, as of Tuesday morning.

The case will now be investigated as a homicide.
