Man Fatally Shot In The Chest In Brownsville, Police Say

The unidentified man died one week after being shot on Watkins and New Lots avenues Tuesday.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A man who was shot in the chest last Tuesday night died from his injuries Monday, police said.

The unidentified victim was one of two 27-year-old men to be shot on the corner of Watkins and New Lots avenues around 9:45 p.m. on July 25, according to police.

The two men — one with a gunshot wound in his chest and leg, the other with a gunshot wound in his left leg — were rushed to Brookdale Hospital by private means, said police.

But doctors were unable to save the man who had been shot in the chest, and on Monday he succumbed to his injuries, police said.
