EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN β€” An East New York man who raped a 14-year-old girl, forced her to have sex with strangers at a Williamsburg bachelors party and made her solicit sex in the dark streets of Brooklyn could spend just three years in prison, prosecutors announced Wednesday.

Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said the plea deal β€” which will mean a three- to six-year sentence for 28-year-old Travis Walker β€” would spare the young girl from facing her abuser in court.

β€œThis case is representative of my continuing commitment to seek justice for vulnerable young women who are exploited and forced into prostitution," Gonzalez said.

A source said the young teen did not want to testify. Studies have shown that rape victims will often forego a trial if it means not having to face their attacker and relive the attack.

Walker beat and starved the young girl between May 25 and June 18, during which time the teen was made to prostitute herself on the street, in a Borough Park Hotel and at Walker's home, said prosecutors.

Another woman working as a prostitute helped the 14-year-old escape Walker when she learned the girl's age, prosecutors said.

An aunt found the girl wandering the streets of Brooklyn and contacted police, said prosecutors.

Walker pleaded guilty to rape and and attempted promoting prostitution charges in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Jan. 23, said prosecutors.

The East New York man will have to register as a sex offender when he is released, said prosecutors.
