Mugger Stabs Brownsville Woman Who Tried To Flee, Police Say

Two men cornered a Brownsville woman in her apartment building, whipped out a knife and demanded cash last week, said police.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Police are looking for two muggers who stabbed a woman in the back when she tried to escape them.

The two men followed their 53-year-old victim into her home near Hegeman Avenue and Linden Boulevard last Monday at about 4:20 a.m., police said.

One man grabbed her from behind, whipped out a knife and demanded she give him money, said police.

When the woman struggled to escape him, he stabbed her in the back then ran away with the other man, police said.

Emergency responders rushed the 53-year-old in stable condition to Brookdale Hospital, said police.

The two men, who wore all dark clothing, were caught on surveillance footage and wanted by police.
