New York City's 1st Homicide Of 2019 Is In East New York: Cops

Around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, police officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds near Stanley and Autumn avenues.

EAST NEW YORK, NY β€” New York City has already seen its first homicide of 2019. Around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday, police officers were called to the area of Stanley and Autumn avenues for a 911 call about an assault inside a fifth floor hallway of a building in East New York.

Officers found a 29-year-old man unconscious and not breathing inside the building, police said. He had been shot multiple times in the chest. Emergency responders rushed him to Brookdale Hospital Medical Center where he was declared dead.

No arrests have been made and an investigation remains ongoing. The man's identity is being withheld until his family can be notified.
