Shooter Who Killed 80-Year-Old Man Over $2 Beer Arrested: NYPD
Mark Thomas shot 80-year-old Abdulla Yafaee dead Tuesday because the deli worker wouldn't let Thomas pay $1.50 for a $2 beer, police said.

EAST NEW YORK, BROOKLYN — The gunman who killed an 80-year-old deli worker because he wouldn’t give him a discount on a $2 beer has been arrested and charged with murder, said police.
Mark Thomas, 41, became enraged when Abdulla Yafaee, an employee at the deli at 797 Stanley Ave., wouldn’t let him pay $1.50 for a beer that cost $2, police said.
Thomas stormed out, only to return around 6:30 p.m. with a gun, which he used to shoot Yafae in the chest, police said.

Emergency responders rushed Yafaee to Brookdale Hospital but doctors were unable to save his life, said police.
Thomas, an East New York resident, was arrested Thursday afternoon and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

Thomas, of East New York, is expected to be arraigned in Brooklyn criminal court Thursday evening or early Friday, police said.
