Teen Found Dead Behind Brownsville Apartment Building: NYPD

Eighteen-year-old Amadou Abakar was found behind a Rochester Avenue apartment building on Sunday, police said.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — Police are investigating the death of a teenaged boy found dead behind a Brownsville apartment building.

Amadou Abakar, 18, was found behind the building on Rochester Avenue Lincoln Place around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.

The Medical Examiner’s office completed its examination but had not yet determined a cause of death as of Wednesday afternoon, a spokeswoman said.

The Daily News reported that detectives want to question a man seen Sunday with Abakar, of Harlem, and that the teen’s death might be linked to Bronx shooting in January.

Abakar’s 19-year-old girlfriend Donna Larry told the Daily News she had hoped to marry him.

“He loved everybody. Everybody loved him,” said Larry. “Simple as that.”
