VIDEO: 13-Year-Old Struck By Car On Brownsville Sidewalk
A car jumped onto the sidewalk and rammed into a 13-year-old girl in Brownsville Friday, according to police and surveillance footage.
BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A 13-year-old was pummeled by a car that sped onto a Brownsville sidewalk Friday morning, according to authorities and surveillance footage.
The 13-year-old girl was standing on Remsen Avenue around 8:35 a.m. when a car came racing down Lenox Road, crossed the light and jumped the curb, said FDNY and NYPD officials.
Video surveillance obtained by Patch shows the car ramming into the girl and breaking a mesh fence in front of the auto shop at 382 Remsen Ave.

The 13-year-old was rushed to Kings County Hospital with unknown injuries but is expected to survive, police said.
"I just feel bad that little girl got hurt right before the holiday," said a witness who asked not to be named. He added that the driver was a woman who lives nearby and works nights.

"Maybe she fell asleep at the wheel," he said. "She is the nicest lady in the neighborhood."
It was not immediately clear whether the driver would face charges, police said.
