Video: Cops Blast Gang Song Outside Brownsville Housing

Video shows two patrol officers blaring a controversial rap song that the Daily News reports promotes killing members of a local gang.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN -- Two cops blasted music from their NYPD squad car that residents fear will antagonize local gang members, according to video and reports.

YouTube video posted on Feb. 10 shows two patrol officers outside the Marcus Garvey Village on Chester Street and Dumont Avenue blaring "Folk in the Trunk," which a source told the Daily News advocates killing members Folk Over Latin Kings, a Crips gang affiliate.

β€œIt’s like playing β€˜Cop Killer”’outside a precinct,” the source said.

The video shows the one patrol officer smiling as the song blasts from the SUV's PA system and a passerby says, "They crazy."

Resident Tracy McGee told the Daily News she felt the video was inappropriate.

β€œWe got kids here in the neighborhood and that’s not something they should be listening to,” McGee said. β€œIt’s disorderly conduct."
