Woman Fatally Struck By Box Truck Backing Up In Brooklyn Lot, Police Say

A 64-year-old woman died after she was hit by a box truck backing out of a Brownsville parking lot, according to police.

BROWNSVILLE, BROOKLYN — A woman died Monday after being hit by a box truck backing out of a parking lot, according to police.

The 64-year-old woman was walking near Foster Avenue and East 99th Street around 4:05 p.m. when she passed by the garage’s entryway and was struck by the truck, police said.

Emergency responders rushed to the parking lot but were unable to save the woman’s life, said police.

The 30-year-old box truck driver was not arrested and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.

Police had not released the victim’s name as of Tuesday morning.
