Ellicott Center Raises Breast Cancer Awareness Through Pumpkins

Residents Paint Pumpkins Pink As Part of "Think Pink" Before Donating Them

As part of October Breast Cancer Awareness month, residents at Ellicott Center got together on Halloween, October 31st, to paint pumpkins pink. The facility on Seventh Street in Buffalo did this for the 2nd year in a row as part of a national program called, "It's Time to Think Pink". How many pumpkins they paint are then donated to the Breast Cancer Network of WNY, located on Walden Avenue in nearby Depew, NY.

"Our residents love painting these pumpkins and they know it's for such a special cause," said Stephanie Robinson, Recreation Director at Ellicott Center. "When the pumpkins are donated, it leaves such a warm feeling in our hearts knowing we did this for a great cause."
