Buffalo's Art Gallery Scene Is Thriving: A Guide to What Is On View and What's Up Next (buffalorising.com) — Buffalo's gallery scene is buzzing, with AKG, Burchfield Penney, Hallwalls, CEPA, BICA, and more offering major exhibitions, many free or low-cost and within a short drive. The guide highlights specific Buffalo shows, opening dates, receptions, and even satellite spaces so you can plan art outings through late summer and into 2027.
   

3. Former Buffalo Hyatt workers continue to protest alleged union-busting (wkbw.com) — Former Hyatt Regency workers are back on the picket line in downtown Buffalo, accusing the hotel's former management company of retaliating against union organizing. They're pressing ahead despite ongoing federal labor litigation and a management change, hoping public pressure will help them secure union representation. Mayor Sean Ryan previously criticized the hotel's actions and, according to his office, hasn't changed his stance.
   

4. University at Buffalo welcomes thousands of students for move-in day (wkbw.com) — Thousands of students are moving into the University at Buffalo's North and South campuses, with more than 5,500 first-years expected and total enrollment again topping 30,000. 'Bring that dream into reality': Canisius University launches 'Launch Lab' for women entrepreneurs (wkbw.com) — Women in Buffalo with a business idea can now apply for the Women's Business Center at Canisius University's new 15-week "Launch Lab" boot camp, with registration open through Sept. 29. Led by entrepreneur and media personality Mercedes Wilson, the program builds both business fundamentals and CEO skills, drawing on success stories like Papercraft Miracles' Niagara Street shop.
