Healing by the Water presents 'The Drum' (buffalorising.com) — Freedom Park on Niagara Street in Buffalo will host the free season finale of the Healing by the Water music series, "The Drum," on Thursday, September 10 at 5 p.m. Residents are invited to wear white, bring drums, and enjoy vendors and community groups along the Niagara River as the gathering honors freedom seekers who once passed through this riverside site.

'Hot patch is here': Buffalo invests in equipment to provide longer-lasting pothole repairs (wkbw.com) — Buffalo has bought its own $60,000 hot patch machine so city crews can make longer-lasting pothole repairs instead of relying only on short-term cold patches. Officials say the new in-house equipment should keep patched streets smoother for about three years, reduce repeat visits, and let workers cover more road segments across the city.

Kennedy to Host Homeland Security Committee Site Visit to Buffalo (house.gov) — Homeland Security Committee Democrats are in Buffalo today and tomorrow to review Border Patrol and Coast Guard operations near the Canadian border and meet local leaders about the 2022 mass shooting's ongoing impact. They also plan to discuss the death of Nurul Amin Shah Alam and broader justice and security concerns affecting Buffalo residents.

Girl of Glass drop video for new single 'Third Knives The Charm," announce debut LP (lambgoat.com) — Buffalo metal fans can catch Texas deathcore band Girl of Glass at Rec Room on September 14 as part of their upcoming tour. American Red Cross of Western New York installs 9/11 flag tribute ahead of 25th anniversary (wkbw.com) — A large 9/11 flag tribute is now on display in Buffalo, with nearly 3,000 flags honoring each life lost and a special section for those connected to Western New York.
