• NYPA becoming majority owner of Canton solar project (wwnytv.com) — A major 240-megawatt solar farm is moving forward in the Town of Canton, with the New York Power Authority taking a 51% ownership stake in the Rich Road project. Local leaders say NYPA's involvement could bring more accountability and benefits, while construction is slated to start late next year and the facility could be operating by 2029.
   

• Help shape Canton's waterfront by taking survey (northcountrynow.com) — Canton residents are being asked to help shape the community's waterfront by completing an online survey that's still open. Feedback will guide future projects along the Grasse, Oswegatchie and Little rivers, including decisions about Taylor Park Community Beach, flooding issues, public access, and new recreational opportunities in both the town and village.
   

• SLU Athletes of the Week Sept. 21 (informnny.com) — St. Lawrence University in Canton has named men's soccer player Sammy Bothwell and field hockey goalie Stella Gizzi as its Athletes of the Week for September 21. Bothwell's goals powered key wins over nationally ranked Cortland and Hobart, while Gizzi's seven-save shutout anchored a 3-0 home opener victory over Oswego State.
