Where Soldiers Come From will be followed by a panel discussion with the director and film subjects. The film chronicles "four friends from [the director's] tight-knit rural town in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, as they sign up for the National Guard and then deploy to Afghanistan," and was named winner of the SXSW Best Editing Award.
