Moriches Man Charged In Knifepoint Smoke Shop Robbery: Police

WADING RIVER, NY — A Moriches man was charged in the knifepoint robbery of a Wading River smoke shop, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, Jesse D. Schold, 27, of Moriches, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with first degree robbery, a felony, after a robbery reported on September 17 at the Wading River Smoke and Vapor Shop, located on Route 25A in Wading River, police said.

He was transported to the Riverhead Police Department for processing and held for arraignment and later transported to the Suffolk County Correctional Facility to be held, police said.

Schold was also arrested on Oct. 6 and charged with seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop for multiple violations when he was found with cocaine on on Mastic Road, police said.
