$2 Million Prize Scam; Suspicious Housecleaner Incident, More: Mount Kisco Police Blotter

MOUNT KISCO, NY — Here are some of the recent incidents to which Westchester County Police responded in Mount Kisco.

Friday, March 19 – 9:19 a.m. – A village resident reported to Westchester County Police that she received a suspicious call from a woman claiming to be the sister of her cleaning lady. The caller asked for the days and times the home was cleaned and said she would be taking over the job. When the resident contacted her cleaning lady, she learned that the cleaning lady had lost her phone and someone was calling multiple people in her contacts and making the same false claim. The matter remains under investigation.

6:47 a.m. – Westchester County Police responded to Citibank on South Moger Avenue on an activated burglar alarm. It was determined that an employee activated the alarm in error.

1:15 a.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to the parking lot of a business on South Moger Avenue after receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle. Officers determined that the driver of the vehicle had the owner’s permission to park in the lot overnight.

Thursday, March 18 – 10:45 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to the rear of a business on South Moger Avenue on a report that a group of youths was congregating there. The youths moved on upon an officer’s arrival.

9:38 p.m. – William Swanko, 58, of East Main Street was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after an officer observed him driving erratically near his home. He was released pending a June appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court.

Wednesday, May 17 – 6:03 p.m. -- Westchester County Police responded to Carpenter Avenue to assist a woman who was suffering from severe stomach pain. The woman was taken by the Mount Kisco Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Northern Westchester Hospital Center.

Monday, May 15 – 4:10 p.m. – A village resident reported that she had been scammed out of $147 by a company that claimed she had won a $2 million prize but required an administrative fee up front before a check could be processed. When the woman paid the fee but never received a check, she went to her bank which told her she had been scammed and advised she report the incident to police.

11:43 a.m. – A business on Radio Circle reported that a car pulled into their lot, discarded items in their Dumspter, and drove off. An employee took down the vehicle’s license plate and called police. An investigation is continuing.
