2017-18 School Calendar For Bedford
The new school year starts soon. Here are dates you and your children need to know.
BEDFORD, NY — There are a few more beach days, but the reality is, the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2017-18 school year in the Bedford Central School District.
- Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 4
- First day of school: Sept. 5 (Kindergarten dismissal 12:30 p.m. Sept. 5-6)
- Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 21-22
- Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 9
- Half-day elementary for Parent-Teacher conference: Oct. 10
- Half-day for all students for Parent-Teacher conference: Oct. 26
- Parent-Teacher conference (no students): Oct. 27
- Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 10
- Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 23-24 (early dismissal Nov. 22)
- Superintendent Conference, half day for all students: Dec. 8
- Holiday recess: Dec. 25-Jan. 1 (school resumes Jan. 2)
- Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 15
- Superintendent Conference, half day for all students: Feb. 2
- Mid-winter recess (school closed): Feb. 19-23
- Elementary half-day, Parent-Teacher conference: March 15
- Elementary only no students: March 16
- Elementary half-day, Parent-Teacher conference: March 23
- Good Friday (school closed): March 30
- Spring recess (school closed): April 2-6
- Memorial Day weekend (school closed): May 28
- Elementary only, half-day: June 20-22
- Last day of school: June 22
