"On Sunday we will drown out the hateful rhetoric that has become the hallmark of the gun debate with music, and create a positive national moment of collective remembrance, supported by action and a commitment to change," said Rosanne Cash. "I believe our country is good enough and strong enough to eliminate senseless gun violence and prevent the destruction of one more family.”
WHAT: On Sunday, local Northern Westchester community artists and activists will band together for the #ConcertAcrossAmerica to #EndGunViolence with a series of live concerts brought together by social media.
WHO: Concert features Shobha Vanchiswar, Dave Bickler, Keith Robellard, First Congregational Church Chancel Choir, Greeley High School Madrigal Choir, Chappaqua Orchestra, James Blasdell, Sam Blasdell, Alex Formi and Cantor Star Trompeter.
“This concert, that spans our great country, will hopefully remind us that we need to work towards saving lives from gun violence. We need to do more than hold memorial services and offer prayers. We need to work for common sense laws about the use and ease of access to guns, particularly assault weapons that can kill many in a few seconds. We can make a difference in the lives of all of those who will not die because of easy access to assault weapons and senseless gun violence.” said Rev. Dr. Martha Jacobs, senior minister at the first Congregational Church of Chappaqua.
