Update: Borders, Landlord, Have Agreement to Keep Kisco Store Open, Subject to Court Approval, Reuters Reports

Stores could close if negotiations fail between retailer, lenders and landlords.

Update, June 12:

Borders has reached an agreement with its landlord to keep the Mount Kisco store open, but the deal needs court approval, Reuters reports. The overall number of vulnerable stores is down to 45, after Borders reached agreements to keep six stores open through agreements with landlords, according to Reuters.

The located in Mount Kisco is among 51 of the company's stores that could close if ongoing negotiations between the beleagured retailer, and its lenders and landlords fail.

The Associated Press reports that Borders, which recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and spared the Mount Kisco store, requested permission from bankruptcy court to close the locations "in order to satisfy a condition of its bankruptcy financing." However, it told the AP that it hopes the number of named closures won't happen.
