You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2015-16 school year in the Bedford school district.

First day of school (late start, grades 7-8 and 10-12): Sept. 2

Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 7

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 14, 15

Yom Kippur (school closed): Sept. 23

Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 12

Superintendent Conference Day (half day): Oct. 22

Superintendent Conference Day (school closed): Oct. 23

Veterans Day (no school): Nov. 11

Thanksgiving recess (half-day): Nov. 25

Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 26-27

Holiday recess (half day): Dec. 23

Holiday recess: Dec. 24-Jan. 3 (school resumes Jan. 4)

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 18

Regents Exams: Jan. 26-29

Presidents Day/Winter recess (school closed): Feb. 15-19

Elementary conferences (half day, school closed): March 10, 11

Holiday recess: March 21-25

Half day: April 22

Memorial Day (school closed): May 30

Last day of school: June 23
