Beehive Co-op to Get New Owners, Name Change

Owner Petra Geiger announces switch is effective Sept. 1.

Mount Kisco's will have new ownership by the end of this week, current owner Petra Geiger announced Monday.

Beehive designers Dawn-Marie Manwaring and Margaret Mullen formed a partnership and purchased the store, she wrote. The deal will close on Sept. 1.

"They will bring fresh ideas, new energy and vitality to the business and I think you will find the changes exciting. I am personally looking forward to seeing the shop thrive in the years ahead," Geiger wrote in her announcement.

The ownership change will also bring a slightly different name to the store: Beehive Designer Collective.

Geiger wrote that her decision was based on reducing her workload.

"Over the past 6 months I made the decision that owning both the Mt. Kisco store and a growing online business (www.beehivestyle.com) has become too much for one person to manage well. Luckily, I found enthusiastic new owners within our community of designers."

Geiger wrote that she will rent space at Beehive as a vendor.

Beehive has been a local fixture for roughly four years, according to Geiger.
