Bet Torah Nursery School Participates in a Healthy Cereal Drive for the Mt. Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry
Bet Torah Nursery School classes emptied their tzedakah (charity) boxes this month for its Mitzvah (good deed) of the Month, collecting healthy cereal and funds for the Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry. Nursery School families collected over 45 healthy cereal boxes and donated over $200 to the Food Pantry. Fours classes took a walking field trip to the Food Pantry last week to donate the cereal and present a check to Roberta Horowitz, Bet Torah member and Food Bank Director. Melissa Kirshenbaum and Beth Nevins, Bet Torah Nursery School Community Outreach Co-Chairs, coordinated this event.
The Mount Kisco Interfaith Food Pantry provides crucial assistance to those who do not have nutritious food for themselves or their family. The Pantry offers regular, weekly groceries for at least three days worth of meals. The people served by the Pantry include those who work in low-paying jobs or are recently unemployed, families with young children, as well as people on fixed incomes.
