With nine residential burglaries in town so far this year, New Castle police are warning residents to be smart and careful.
“The numbers bear out advice we have always given to the public: When leaving your residence, even for a short time, lock all doors and windows and set your alarm system,” police said. “ If you do not have an alarm system, consider getting one. Please keep an eye out for suspicious activity in your neighborhood. No one knows what is out of place in your neighborhood better than you and your neighbors.”
The most recent was a daylight crime Sept. 9 on Seven Bridges Road.
