Chappaqua Delays School Opening UPDATE

Roads are closed or debris-filled across New Castle.

UPDATE — Chappaqua school officials extended Thursday's delayed opening to three hours.

New Castle police sent out a community alert at 6:30 a.m.: The following roads are closed due to flooding:Route 100 (Saw Mill River Rd) between Campfire Rd & Station Place.Route 120 (Quaker Rd) between Kipp Street & the Hunts Place traffic light. Please use caution while traveling and watch out for debris in the roadway.

With northern Westchester still under a flash flood warning, Chappaqua first announced a 2-hour delay Thursday.

"We have roads throughout our community that were impacted by the storm last night," said spokesman David Hayes. "If the District needs to delay for 3 hours, this decision will be made by 8 a.m."
