Horace Greeley visited Arlington for an opening round Section 1 Class AA playoff game Feb. 17 and fought the Admirals tooth and nail but fell in a heartbreaker 44-42.
Harrison Brown led the Quakers with 15 points.

Fox Lane boys win
No. 2 Fox Lane did what it had to do to fight off an upset bid from the visitors and defeat Suffern 40-36 in a Class AA first-round Section 1 boys basketball tournament game Feb. 17.
Will Trawick led the Foxes with nine points and 10 rebounds.
Fox Lane will host No. 7 North Rockland in the quarterfinals 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22.
The winners of each quarterfinal contest will advance to the Section 1 Final Four at the Westchester County Center in White Plains Feb. 27-March 4.

Girls playoffs hoops
No. 9 Horace Greeley came up with huge 52-39 triumph at North Rockland in the opening round of the Section 1 Class AA tournament on Feb. 17.
Greeley's Jackie Brett was on fire, registering a game-high 23 points with teammate Lindsay Hill tallying eight points.
Greeley will play at No. 1 Ossining in the quarterfinals at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22.
Fox Lane traveled to Arlington for its first-round contest the same night, falling 69-48.
