Don't forget to vote May 19 whether you reside in the Bedford or Chappaqua school district!

New York residents are asked to vote on their local school district’s budget and board of education May 19. Here are fast facts about the elections in Bedford and Chappaqua.
Bedford
Voting information
Polls are open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the elementary school serving your attendance area. If you have questions, call the District Clerk, Carole LaColla, at 241-6011.

Board of Education
There are two seats on which registered voters may vote. Both are for 3-year terms ending in 2018. Voters may vote for one candidate for each seat.
- There are two candidates for the seat last held by Susan Elion Wollin: Justine Marous and Brian Sheerin
- There is one candidate for the seat last held by Eric Karle: Colette Dow
School budget
- Proposed for 2015-16: $127,199,424
- Increase over current spending: 0.55 percent
- Tax levy increase: 0.62 percent

7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Horace Greeley High School Gym, 70 Roaring Brook Road, Chappaqua, NY
Board of Education
Alyson Gardner is running unopposed for a 3-year term.
School budget
- Proposed spending for 2015-16: $117,901,688
- Increase over current budget: 0.89 percent
- Tax levy increase: 1.07 percent
- Tax rate increase for New Castle residents: 1.17% percent
- Tax rate decrease for Mount Pleasant residents: 1.14 percent
Second school district proposition
Asks voters to authorize the District to transfer no more than $600,000 from the School Lunch Fund to the Capital Fund for the purposes of renovating and replacing equipment at the Horace Greeley High School cafeteria. No budget increase is called for.
Chappaqua Library
Proposed spending: $3,020,724
Library trustee: Maggie Christ is running unopposed for a five-year term
