Chappaqua Schools Calendar 2015-16

You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2015-16 school year in the Chappaqua school district.

First day of school: Sept. 1

Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 14, 15

Yom Kippur (school closed): Sept. 23

Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 12

Staff development day (school closed): Oct. 23

Election Day, staff development day (school closed): Nov. 3

Veterans Day (no school): Nov. 11

Elementary early dismissal: Nov. 13

Early dismissal: Nov. 25

Thanksgiving recess (school closed): Nov. 26-27

Holiday recess: Dec. 24-Jan. 1 (school resumes Jan. 4)

Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 18

Winter recess: Feb. 15-19

Spring recess: March 21-25

Staff development day (early dismissal): April 22

Staff development day (school closed): May 20

Memorial Day: May 30

Last day of school: June 23

Please note: If school cancellation during the year causes student days to fall below the state requirement, the “make‐up” days will be scheduled in this order: Feb 19, 18, 17, 16, March 21, 22, 23, 2016.
