Chappaqua's Jean Cleary Appointed To New Settlement Board

CHAPPAQUA, NY — A Chappaqua executive with a knack for communication will join a Bronx non-profit with a reputation for fiercely fighting for its community.

New Settlement, an organization with the self-stated goal of breaking systemic barriers, advancing justice, promoting leadership and strengthening neighborhoods in the Bronx, has announced the appointment of Jean Cleary to its board of directors.

"Jean’s strong expertise in marketing and communications, coupled with her passion for creating positive change, will be invaluable as we work to advance New Settlement’s mission and deepen our impact across the Bronx."

The group will tap Cleary's more than 20 years of experience in corporate marketing and business development. In her storied career, she has directed change-management initiatives for some of the world’s largest law and accounting firms. As Director of Marketing and Business Development at Baker McKenzie, she managed all regional business development and marketing activity for the law firm’s Latin American region. Cleary also served as Director of Business Development at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. She has also previously held director positions at Center for Reproductive Rights and PwC.

More recently, Cleary served on the strategic marketing and communications committee at the Financial Women’s Association, where she established the organization's social media presence while integrating its existing website, email and print communications.

As a marketing and communications strategist at the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester, Cleary re-engineered both the organization’s website and its fundraising efforts.
