Chappaqua's John Cirillo Named NYU Adjunct Instructor

Respected sports public relations executive John Cirillo will join the NYU School of Professional Studies Tisch Institute for Sports Management, Media, and Business (‎sps.nyu.edu/tischinstitute) as an adjunct instructor this Fall.‎

Cirillo will teach Public Relations in the School’s M.S. in Sports Business program. It marks a return to NYU, where he was an adjunct from 1998-2003 during the formative years of the Tisch Institute’s Sports Management program. He will continue as an adjunct at Fordham University (Rose Hill) in the communications and media studies department. ‎Cirillo is also media consultant for Fairfield University athletics, as he has forged a significant mark in the collegiate sports realm.‎

The former New York Knicks and Madison Square Garden vice president is a 30-year veteran in public relations on the New York and national sports scene. Cirillo is founder and president of Cirillo World (www.cirilloworld.com), established in 1997, a firm that presently represents the Thurman Munson Awards Dinner for AHRC New York City Foundation, Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway, Fairfield University athletics, the Grand Central Oyster Bar, the WFUV Radio (90.7 fm/‎wfuv.org) Vin Scully Lifetime Achievement Award in Sports Broadcasting, and Steiner Sports Marketing.‎

During its 18 years, Cirillo World clients have also included such prominent names in sports as Bob Costas, Gary Carter, boxing champions Oscar De La Hoya and Wladimir Klitschko, the Atlantic 10 Conference, notable boxing promoters such as Bob Arum, Lou DiBella, Dino Duva, Joe DeGuardia and Cedric Kushner, Gallagher’s Steak House, and Fordham University athletics.‎

Cirillo is a graduate of Fordham University with a B.A. in communications.‎
