Hear from New Castle Supervisor Rob Greenstein and other solar adopters about why they made the decision to go solar

As the popular Solarize Somers-New Castle program nears an end, residents have another chance to talk to neighbors who have already gone solar and solar advocates about the latest green technology taking over rooftops.
Chappaqua, NY (February XX, 2016) – Rob Greenstein wants to make sure his children’s children can enjoy the same quality of life that he and his family have today in Westchester County. He hopes by doing his small part, he’s helping to protect the environment and encouraging others to do the same. That’s why he recently purchased a solar system for his home. When the panels go in early spring, he’ll be able to generate his own, clean energy with help from the sun. “I’m going to be saving money on my utilities and helping the environment, so for me it was a no brainer,” said Greenstein.
But he’s not stopping there. Greenstein is also the Town Supervisor of New Castle, New York and has been working in his official capacity to help the environment as well. “I want New Castle to be a leader in sustainability and green living. We owe this to our friends, neighbors and to the next generation of New Yorkers,” said Greenstein. He’s been a strong supporter of the Solarize Somers-New Castle program. After a competitive review process, the group selected Direct Energy Solar™ as their residential installer partner. The company has been working with the Solarize team to educate people about solar through several community events and workshops. Residents are offered discounted pricing and a streamlined process for the length of the program. It started last October and expires March 7th, 2016.

A community happy hour will be held this week where people who are interested can talk to neighbors who have already purchased solar systems for their homes, members of the Solarize New Castle team and solar consultants from Direct Energy Solar.
