Concert: Singer-Songwriter Paul Guzzone opens for Al Stewart

Paul Guzzone, singer-songwriter and long-time member of the Bacon Brothers band, is special guest for veteran folk-rock artist Al Stewart on June 6 at 8:30 PM at The Towne Crier, now in it’s new location in Beacon, NY (379 Main Street). Al Stewart, whose historical storytelling is a prominent feature of his songwriting, is most well-known for his #1 hit “Year Of The Cat” and followup platinum album “Time Passages.” Tickets at: http://www.townecrier.com. $35 in advance and $40 at the door. For further information call (845) 855-1300.

Paul Guzzone, with his crowd-winning charm and dynamic stage presence, has been performing to promote his latest album “Chasing the Moon” which Bill Harriman of “Sound Waves” described as “dream-pop” with “a sense of timeless wonder [and] a Leonard Cohen vibe.” This is Paul’s first release since his 1980’s EP “Dancin’ Room” which received critical raves and airplay on major East Coast rock stations. “Stereo Review” called it “rousing, unpretentious bar-band boogie … good-time, unselfconscious rock-n-roll.”

Paul also tours with The Bacon Brothers, featuring actor Kevin Bacon and composer Michael Bacon, and has appeared with them on numerous broadcasts including “Live with Kelly and Michael,” VH1’s “Big Morning Buzz,” “The Tonight Show,” “The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” and “The View.” Paul co-produced several of the band’s albums and he co-wrote their new single “493 Miles.”

As a songwriter Paul had a Top 25 hit on the Billboard dance charts last summer with “I Will Carry You,” co-written with Mike Greenly and covered by dance artist Shara Strand. And in addition to performing with the Bacon Brothers, Paul has backed the legendary folk artists Tom Rush and Tom Chapin, along with numerous other artists.

Paul is also an award-winning composer and producer of music for corporate events and broadcast commercials. His work has been featured in national ad campaigns and at high-visibility events such as the launch of the new Corvette Stingray at the International Auto Show in Detroit.
