Investigators ask for public assistance in identifying a blue vehicle relevant to the investigation.

NEW CASTLE, NY — New York State Police seek witnesses to help with their investigation of a fatal crash on the Taconic State Parkway involving a car and a motorcycle. The accident took place at 7:06 p.m. April 28 near near Exit 8 for Route 100/Route 133.
Initial investigation suggested a 2006 Mercury sedan was southbound on the parkway making a lane change, and was struck on the rear driver's side by a 2017 Aprilia motorcycle, police said.
Numerous witnesses described a blue car that appeared to be racing the motorcycle; however, none of the information gathered so far has led to the identification of the car, police said.
