
NEW CASTLE, NY – New York State Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash Saturday on the Taconic State Parkway involving a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle.
The accident took place at 7:06 p.m. near Exit 8 (Route 100/Route 133).
Initial investigation suggests a 2006 Mercury sedan was southbound on the Taconic State Parkway making a lane change, and was struck on the rear driver’s side by a 2017 Aprilia motorcycle, police said. The motorcycle operated by Scott V. McMahon, 27, of Yonkers, lost control and struck the concrete center median, and McMahon was ejected from the seat.

A doctor who was also traveling on the Taconic State parkway stopped, and administered emergency care until EMS transport services arrived. McMahon was then transported to Westchester Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.
