Curtis Instruments Makes 'Best Companies to Work for' List

Mount Kisco-based technology company Curtis Instruments has been named to the Best Companies to Work for in New York State list, coming in fifth out of 50 businesses.

The list, put out by an affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), includes companies of various sizes that have New York state presences.
Curtis learned that it made the overall list earlier this year and recently learned its specific number.

Frank Matheis, the company's communications and marketing director, said that the process for applying to make the list was “extensive.” It included a questionarrie covering many company aspects and an anonymous employee survey.

Matheis felt that there are several notable aspects about Curtis, which was founded in 1960 and is privately held, including a “consistency in leadership,” an “exceptional” benefits package, a flexible work environment and employee bonuses.

He also said that there is low turn over and felt that the company offers “a real work-life balance.”

Curtis' products range from battery monitoring, to electric vehicle, wheelchair and golf car technologies.
