The Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival will take place on October 5, 2013 on the ball fields of The Robert E. Bell Middle School in Chappaqua, NY. More than 130 attended a fundraising tea held at a private home in early April to raise awareness of and kick-off the first annual Chappaqua Children’s Book Festival. Guests toured the home, enjoyed tea and pastries and met several of the authors who will attend the book festival in October.
A grassroots effort led by local residents and inspired by a children's book fair held at Sunnyside in Tarrytown which recently ended its 15-year run, it will be the only children’s book festival in Westchester County. More than 50 renowned children’s book authors and illustrators have confirmed participation.
