Family Remembers 'Zee' Patriarch

Zee Vacuum, Seasonz closed today with funeral being held for Lewis Zolotorofe.

The family of Lewis "Zee" Zolotorofe, who brought to Mount Kisco, are remembering his life as they cope with his death.

The elder Zolotorofe, 80, passed away on Sunday from congestive heart failure, said his son Richard Zolotorofe, who also goes by Zee as his nickname. His father had congestive heart difficulty and Parkinson's Disease, he said.

The funeral for Zolotorofe is being held today at Sharon Gradens in Valhalla. To coincide with the event, Richard Zolotorofe, who manages the business, is closing the vacuum store and Seasonz Gift Boutique for the day. He founded Seasonz last year, opening it at the former South Moger Avenue site of Plaza Too.

Zolotorofe had a long background of volunteerism in Mount Kisco. His son said that he was a volunteer firefighter, captain in the volunteer ambulance corps and president of the Kiwanis Club.

Zee was founded more than 70 years ago by Zolotorofe's father, Bernard. It has had a Mount Kisco presence since Zolotorofe opened the store in the 1950s. Since then, according to Richard Zolotorofe, it has been located at three different downtown spots. It is currently at 25 S. Moger Ave.
