First-Ever STEM Fest Draws Huge Crowd

The Chappaqua PTA featured student-designed experiments, inventions and research and also brought in amazing exhibits and activities.

The inaugural Chappaqua STEM Fest on Saturday was a huge success.

More than 500 people visited at Bell Middle School, to see Chappaqua students in grades K-12 showcase their experiments, inventions and research and enjoy hands-on activities run by local and national companies.

It was an amazing day, with everything from flight simulators to student-designed robotics exhibits, said Andrea Meyer, Chair of the Chappaqua PTA STEM Committee.

“The Chappaqua Central School district has a longstanding dedication to STEM education. Our faculty and students are deeply engaged in the sciences, technology, engineering, arts and math,” said Lyn McKay, Ph.D., Superintendent of the Chappaqua Central School District. “Our new Maker Space, as well as the iLabs at Horace Greeley High School and Bell Middle School, also offer an innovative place for students and teachers to collaborate and engage in project based learning.”
