Fox Lane Girls Lacrosse Drops Second Straight to New Canaan, 14-12
Positive signs in a loss to a lacrosse power.

The Fox Lane Foxes missed some key opportunities to score in a 14-12 loss in girls lacrosse to the New Canaan Rams on Saturday.
The Foxes were in it, trailing 6-5 behind four goals from Lindsay Toppe until the Rams broke loose on a four goal spurt to lead 14-10 with under six minutes to play.
Fox Lane would not go down without a fight however threatening the Rams on a Kaylie O'Hagen goal at 2:59 for a 14-11 score.

Sammy Jo Tracy pulled the Foxes even closer, 14-12, with less than two minutes to go before defensive pressure from the Rams gave way for the two-goal loss.
Despite the defeat, Fox Lane Head Coach Bill Broggy saw signs of improvement, both in skill and attitude.

One instance included Broggy taking time out of the game to emphasize the need to hustle.
"The kids were not hustling," he said.
The pep talk was effective as the kids turned it around and in the end learned that they can play with a top non-region opponent like New Canaan.
"We're young," he said. "We played well."
The Foxes had looked to bounce back from a 19-10 loss to John Jay.
"We can use this game as a stepping stone," he told his players in a post-game speech.
The next step will be a pivotal home matchup against Rye on Wednesday that will help determine league championship.
Toppe led the Foxes with five goals and one assist. Sammy Jo Tracy scored three goals and one assist.
Jennifer Pollock had seven saves in goal.
