Gold Ring Found; Suspicious Men, Package: Mount Kisco Blotter

MOUNT KISCO, NY — Here are some of the incidents to which Westchester County police responded in Mount Kisco last week:

Friday, Jan. 26 – 10:09 a.m. – Officials at the Mount Kisco post office requested that a narcotics detection canine examine a package that potentially contained illegal narcotics. PO David Sanchez and canine Mario responded. The dog did not indicate the presence of any narcotic material.

Thursday, Jan. 25 – 11:38 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to the Brookside Village complex after a resident reported seeing several men walking on Park Drive and communicating with walkie-talkies. Officers determined the men were Con Ed employees who were searching for a reported odor of gas in the general area.

6:59 p.m. – A county police officer responded to the precinct on Green Street to assist a Department of Social Services employee with an interview of a client

9:53 a.m. – An officer temporarily closed a section of sidewalk on West Main Street after observing a low-hanging power line that posed a danger to passersby. Con Edison responded to make the needed repair.

Wednesday, Jan. 24 – 10:04 p.m. – Westchester County Police responded to South Moger Avenue on a report that a man was passed out on a bench. The man told officers he was dozing and was not ill. He left the area on his own.

4:55 p.m. -- A car dealership on Kisco Avenue reported a possible fraud attempt to Westchester County Police. An employee told officers that a man seeking to finance and purchase a car provided a Connecticut driver’s license but then left the dealership suddenly when he learned a credit check was being conducted. An investigation is continuing.

Tuesday, Jan. 23 – 2:57 p.m. – A woman came to the county police precinct on Green Street to turn in a gold ring she found in the parking lot of CVS on South Bedford Road. The ring, which contains an inscription, was turned over to the department’s Property Control Unit for safekeeping.
